Riga International Film festival Arsenals is being organized
biennially in September. It offers different sections: International Film Competition (author cinema features, docs, animations), Baltic Film
Competition (all genres` films from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), World
Panorama and special thematic programmes and retrospectives.The main
prize of the International Film Competition is 10 000 USD.
The winner announced
In Saturday’s afternoon of 24th of October during the Closing ceremony the decision of Media Jury of 10th Riga’s Nordic Film Days was announced and the winner awarded with the symbolic NorthernTable, which became incarnated into a chamomile ornamented cup.

The X Nordic film days were held from 16th to 24th of October and featured 14 films from Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The next NFD will be organised from 14th to 23th of October 2011.
The program will comprise the most recent and interesting cinematic productions from Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The Festival will offer criticism of social issues, intelligent quests for mutual understanding and the sharp humour - all in that special Nordic manner that is so warmly welcomed and understood by the audience here in Latvia.
The Nordic Film Days has become a nice tradition since the beginning of nineties. The films are being evaluted not only by a special jury but by the audience as well.
The next Riga International Film forum Arsenals will be held from 17th to 26th of September 2010. It offers different sections: International Film Competition (author cinema features, docs, animations), Baltic Film Competition (all genres` films from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), World Panorama and special thematic programmes and retrospectives. The main prize of the International Film Competition is 10 000 USD. Film submission to the festival is free.

“Arsenals” film marathon – at the finishing line
A festive “Arsenals” closing ceremony took place in the great hall of cinema “Riga” on Saturday, September 20, 2008. During the ceremony many winners were announced – those of the juries’ awards, the lucky film viewer, whom Airbaltic will take on a trip to Venice next autumn, the winner of the main festival award (20000 US dollars), as well as many special prize winners.

Opening ceremony
“Arsenals” 2008 was ceremoniously opened with the screening of “Salomé” in the small hall of the Latvian National Opera for guests with invitations, as well as with the screening of the Norwegian silent film “The Bridal Party in Hardanger” and the wedding gown parade in Vērmanes dārzs, which gathered half a thousand people.
