13th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF 26 november, 6 December) announced the competition programme. EurAsia competition programme which takes place sixth year presents 21 movies. Official competition programme EurAsia:

EurAsia competition programme is adjudged by international jury: Rain Tolk (Estonia), Aleksandr Rodnianski (Russia); André Gago (Portugal); Xavier Capellas (Spain); Francine Brücher (Switzerland); Pen-ek Ratanaruang (Thailand); and Anu Lamp (Estonia). The jury will award the Grand Prix (10,000 Euros from the city of Tallinn) for Best Film, give awards for Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress, and also a Special Jury Award. The jury for the Tridens Baltic feature film competition, held for the second time, includes Chankit Chamnivikaipong (Thailand); Leon van der Merve (Republic of South Africa); and Uldis Cekulis (Latvia).

The jury will give the Tridens Baltic Film Award to the best Baltic film (5,000 Euros) and the Scottish Leader Estonian Film Award to the best Estonian feature film (50,000 kroons).
For the first time will take place North American independent films competition program with 10 films from USA and Canada.
DON'T LET ME DROWN / Dir: Cruz Angeles These are adjudged by a jury of European filmdistributors - Leslie Vuchot (France, Hanway Films), Boris Shulman (Ukraina, Maywin Media) and Timo Diener (Estonia, Forum Cinemas). The prize is a distributionright in European countries. Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) will launch a new regional cinema and audiovisual market Black Market Industry Screenings. A pilot will take place this autumn from 30th of November to 3rd of December 2009 with up to 48 industry screenings mainly focusing on the new films from the neighbouring regions and smaller film industry countries: Central and Eastern European countries, Nordic countries, Russia and countries like Georgia, Ukraine, Romania, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyztan, Tadjikistan. The traditional Baltic Event screenings, now organised in cooperation with Black Market Industry Screenings, will show the newest features from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
13th Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) takes place during 12th Novemeber - 6th Decemeber. Additionally to traditional PÖFF towns Tallinn and Tartu, some PÖFF movies are also presented in Narva, Jõhvi, Viljandi, Kärdla and first time also in Kuressaare and Valga.
