The Seventh Annual 2008 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF08) North American Premiere documentary film of THE CHICKEN, THE FISH, AND THE KING CRAB (El pollo, el pez y el cangrejo real), directed by José Luis López-Linares was held at the AMC Village VII, New York, Saturday, April 26, 5:30 pm. A special Q&A session immediately followed with director Linares, producer Antonio Saura, Michelin Starred chefs of Madrid Pedro Larumbe and Alberto Chicote. The True Tastes of Madrid private celebration hosted by World-renowed Chef Mario Batali and Turismo Madrid honoring the premiere film was held at Del Posto Restaurant, 8:30 pm.
THE CHICKEN, THE FISH, AND THE KING CRAB is a fantastic suspenseful story of Spain's
2006 master chef Jesus Almagro first competition in the 2007 Bocuse d'Or World Cuisine Contest (culinary Olympics) held at Eurexpo Lyon, France. The top 24 global chefs have 5.5 hours to create two dishes using chicken, fish (halibut) and the king crab ingredients. The beautiful and exquisite work of art dishes displayed on elegant trays for tasting by world-class judges determine the Bocuse d'Or winners. Director Linares takes you behind the scene with master chef Almagro as he experience the challenge, privilege and humility of competing and ultimately triumphing as 2007 Bocuse d'Or 9th place winner.
