Starting at noon on President's Day weekend and ending 1,440 minutes later, guests gathered in a single theater to watch classic, schlock and premiere science fiction films. The 'THON, as it became to be called, has become a sci-fan's treasured event every year since. The fest now includes ten days of new films leading up to the 24-hour film marathon, Boston's "Other Marathon". The 'thon is arguably the world's oldest running festival of its kind. Awards are given by judges and by the audience. Boston Science Fiction Film Festival runs this winter from February 5 – 15th, 2010, culminating in a 24-hour marathon!
