Barco's CEO introduces REDEFINE the new free quartely company magazine

The year 2009 marks the 75th birthday of Barco. Throughout the decades that have passed since Lucien De Puydt founded the company 1934, Barco covered a vast number of different markets and products.
Originally, Barco's name was an acronym for the "Belgian-American Radio Company". It manufactured a popular brand of radios that quickly gained renown through their forward-thinking technology and clever marketing approach.

In just a  few words the CEO defined the project of REDEFINE the new free quartely company magazine.

"I welcome you very warmly to this first edition of redefine, our brand new company magazine. This magazine is a nice way to stay in touch, share relevant information on market developments, and demonstrate how visualization systems help solve challenges of the 21st century. The name we have chosen for our magazine, redefine, reflects the passion with which we continually seek to redefine the future of visualization.
Even though we are all confronted with tough economic times, I believe that the industry is going through an exciting period, with many fundamental
changes in the making. For instance, we're witnessing the breakthrough of 3D in digital cinema, with no less than eight releases this fall, including James Cameron's "Avatar" and "Disney's A Christmas Carol". Another major trend is the adoption of LED technology in a vast array of fields, from large displays, smart backlights in LCD panels to light sources in projection. You will find
these subjects covered extensively in our magazine, but we are also tackling topics such as challenges for urban mobility in the 21st century, virtual collaboration in the oil and gas industry, as well as real-life customer
cases that illustrate the power of visualization.
Allow me to take this opportunity to invite you to get in touch with us. It is your feedback on our products and communication that can help us improve our
work. Through today's communication tools, it's easy to get in touch. Visit our website, call our sales and service teams - or subscribe to this magazine in digital or printed formats. And don't forget to check out our YouTube channel, our Facebook fan group and the tweets we send you.

Happy reading and thanks for your interest in Barco"
