Saturday, September 16---While the bulk of the program here at the Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival is devoted to international filmmakers, the Festival is presenting a showcase for local film talent, under the title of THINK GLOBALLY, SHOOT LOCALLY. The program is presented today from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Mansion House, the historic inn that is hq for Festival activities. Local filmmakers Ken Wentworth and Liz Witham introduce a series of short films (all under five minutes) created by local filmmakers and inspired by the theme of "global concerns" from a local perspective. Participating filmmakers include Ken Wentworth, Liz Witham, Nora Laudani, Taylor Toole and . In addition, local filmmakers will screen or present various works in progress, from trailers to clips to story ideas to get feedback from local audiences and visiting film professionals.
"This is part of our commitment to local filmmakers", Nevette Previd, Festival co-director explained. "In the future, we hope to expand this program to include filmmakers from Cape Cod to Boston, giving them a forum to get valuable feedback on their film projects from local audiences and film professionals."
