Tahiti Film Festival postponed
Due to political major changes following new government elections in Papeete, the Tahiti capital, the Tahiti Film Festival has been postponed.
Online submission have been extended to adapt to this new schedule.
After a first postponment, we are sorry to announce that the Tahiti Film Festival's new date have not yet been decided between the organizers and the new Tahiti government. Temptative date are either November 2007 or March 2008.
Either way, online submission will be accepted till August 30 2007.
More information on the schedule as soon as the final festival date has been decided.

3 easy and free steps to submit your film
1. Create your account on fest21.com
Register here on fest21.com
2. Join the Tahiti Online Film Festival Group
Go on the Tahiti Online Film Festival Group page and on the left column, click subscribe under the Tahiti Online Film Festival Group header.
3. Upload your film
Use the left column menu option "create content" "video" to upload your film (max length 10 minutes).
As described on the help page:
Video can be of any format. Upload from your disk. Up to 500 Mb of videos. Video will be converted automaticaly to a flash format as used for existing videos published (See home page for example). You can use the following formats (max upload size 150MB):
- flv: flash
- mpg or mp4: MPEG
- asf, wmv: Windows Media
- mov: Quicktime
- avi: standard audio/video
- 3gp: video phones
When uploading your film and inputing title, description..., check the box to include it in the Tahiti Online Film Festival Group content.
4. (optional) Increase your chances but providing more info on yourself, your film, your projects
Fill the description field of your account, the about... Add a few posts, images to describe yourself and your film...

Tahiti Online Film Festival
Online competition starts November 11, 2006
The theme of the competition is romantic short films.
Participation is free.
Each participant is to open a free videoblog account on www.Fest21.com and register to the Tahiti Online Film Festival group on fest21.com.
Formats
- Maximum length: 10 minutes. All formats accepted : avi, mov, mpeg, flv, mp4, wmv, asf, 3gp.
- Multiple film submission is authorized.
- Language: original language or (readable) subtitles in either English or French.
- Films have to be uploaded on the videoblog with the simple "create content" / "video" option.
Online Festival dates:
- Submission extended to April 30, 2007,
- Online vote: May 2007 til May 26 2007,
- The winners will be officialy announced at the end of the Cannes Film Festival , May 27 2007.
Prizes will be offered by The Tahiti Film Festival and its partners*

- A one week trip for 2 to Tahiti including flight and hotel (ARV of 7.500 $) at the winners choice during the 2nd semester of 2007 or during the 2007 Tahiti Film Festival.

Films submitted
The submissions must be original short films with rights owned by the submitter or with proper authorization to submit. Proof of ownership will be asked before prize are awarded.
Language: original language or (readable) subtitles in either English or French.
No R rated movies, no sex, violence or hate, no racial or religious insults… are allowed.
Airline
Flight on Tahiti Air:
Booking restrictions apply and due to capacity controlled seating, flexibility of travel dates may be necessary. This is especially true during the busy travel season from mid-June through early September, and in all holiday seasons.
Departure and return from only one of the following airports:
Paris - NYC - LAX - Tokyo - Osaka - Sydney - Auckland
Hotel
Booking restrictions apply and reservations are subject to availability.
Included is a 7 day trip including 5 nights / 6 days, breakfast not included.
Taxes not included
Airport and hotel taxes are not included.
Local transport not included
Flight include international trip from the above mentioned airports to Papeete (Tahiti) but not the intra islands transportation.

A Star-studded Romance Film Festival in Tahiti
First ever film festival to take place on a deserted island in the Bora Bora Lagoon, French Polynesia, showcasing romance films from around the world
With a reputation as one of the most romantic places in the world, Bora Bora will be home to the first annual Tahiti Film Festival for romance films. The week long Festival premieres on December 2, 2006 on a deserted island in the Bora Bora lagoon, with outdoor screenings every night under the stars on a giant inflatable screen set up on the beach.
Twelve full-length feature films will be competing for most outstanding romantic movie of the year.

Cultural events during the Festival
The Minister of Culture, eager to encourage Polynesian residents’ involvment in the Tahiti Film Festival, is producing a series of cultural events during the week of the festival. Among them:
• A Jury of eight students will be giving the People’s Voice Award to the most romantic movie. A special trophy is being created by art students in Tahiti. Jury’s Godmother: Mareva Georges (Miss Tahiti)
• A Contemporary Art Exhibit will take place in Bora Bora during the Festival.
• Animation and games centered around cinema and romance are being set with local media.
