The 7th edition of Amal ended last Saturday 31st October in the Teatro Principal with a closing ceremony in which the winners were awarded. The event was the highlight of nine days of cinema, dialogue and tolerance in the heart of Santiago de Compostela. The winners, many institutional representatives, authorities, members of the jury, directors and the media came together to celebrate Amal and to enjoy the concert of the French-Algerian musician Fayçal Salhi.

Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film drew (a record) 34,200 visitors - The 52nd International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film has closed with a new audience record: 34,200 visitors saw 330 productions in twelve cinemas, attended the industry events and took part in intensive discussions about the presented works as well as the future of documentary and animated film.
In comparison to 2008, when 28,000 visitors came to the festival, DOK Leipzig can, therefore, report an increase of 22 percent. With this number, even the final visitor figure of the 50th anniversary festival in 2007 (31,000) was significantly topped.

This year the Iranian Film Festival will move to a new location: ‘De Fabriek' in Zaandam. Here, a wide audience can once again become acquainted with everything the Iranian cinema has to offer. But not only the festival's location changes this year: the themes of its movies will also expand and deepen. For instance, there will be special attention for Iranian hiphop, 30 years of Islamic Revolution, ánd we will take an interesting look beyond Iran's borders in Central Asia. The Iranian Film Festival will take place between the 18-19-20th of December 2009.
The 1st Annual Lady Filmmakers Film Festival had the most amazing weekend!! Festivities were kicked off with a private Cocktail Party at the President of Mary Magdalene Project's residence. The programs were well received by filmmakers and filmgoers alike. The awards and charity gala was a hit and the after party was an event not-to-be missed at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel! We ended the festival on a high note with a fantastic group of panelists that kept the audience engaged and informed. All the films were hand picked for its terrific storytelling.

THE DATES of the third edition of Thailand’s Phangan Film Festival (PFF) have now been fixed for 12-14 February 2010, with approximately 20 films scheduled for screening over three evenings.
PFF's themes are Nature and Spirit, and although there are no restrictions on genre or style, submitted films must relate to one or both festival themes.
The Seville Festival Official Section has 16 films, most of them directed by women.- In a ceremony presided over by the Mayor of Seville, Alfredo Sánchez Monteseirín, the Artistic Director of the Seville Festival, Javier Martín-Domínguez, has presented the sixth edition of the festival which will be held from 6th to 14th November and which has over 150 films in its programme.

THE 36th annual International Film Festival of India (IFFI) got of to a colourful start this afternoon (Thursday 24 November 2005) with a huge carnival that included a seemingly endless parade of floats, cultural pageantry and other festivities.
