Originally from former Yugoslavia, Sasha began his film career in the UK, directing short films, corporate programmes and TV commercials. His last short, Green Pages, a 17 minutes single take adaptation of the phone book won the Best Director Award at Portobello Film Festival 2007, as well as the Best Cinematography at Chicago Short Film Festival, 2006. Sasha’s other big love is dance and four of his short films are dance films. He believes in cinema as meaningful entertainment and in his influences he lists an eclectic list of directors – Bergman and Almodovar, Hitchock and Wilder, Milos Forman and Bob Fosse. As a writer, Sasha has written several feature screenplays, of which Project Snowflake is currently also being adapted for the theatre and is slated for 2009 production on both screen and stage.
