The 1st Art&Tur took place from 24 to 27 of September, in Barcelos, under the auspices of the International Committee of Festival of Films of Tourism (CIFTT).
It is the only Portuguese festival of tourism films that is internationally recognized, and aims to select, view and reward the best films worldwide. This means an event aimed at increasing the international visibility of Portugal, which already has in its favour the following strengths:
- A large membership of domestic and foreign competitors;
- Direct involvement of prestigious national institutions;
- The festival Gala on September 27, which
- given the intentional coincidence of dates
- gives special symbolic value to the World Tourism Day;
- The completion of several events;
- A jury of international experts with high prestige;
- A great diversity of films, and the awarding of prizes in the following categories:
- Destinations
- Cultural Tourism
- Nature, World and Rural Tourism
- Oenology and Tourism
- Gastronomy
- Adventure, Expeditions and Travel - Religious Tourism
- Water Sports
- Mountain
- Sport and Tourism
