. On the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Ischia Global Fest will host a worldwide competition among young artists willing to contribute artistically to this campaign via short movies and video-clips, shot in any kind of format (dvd).
2. Each film will be seen and analysed by global audiovisual and communications professionals. The authors of the work judged most significant will be invited to Ischia from July 13–20, to join in sending a message of peace and solidarity during the Global Film & Music Fest, and meet the artists who will take part in the 2nd Social Cinema Forum – Respecting Human Rights, promoted by the Accademia Internazionale Arte Ischia, in collaboration with the Centre for Research and Studies on Human Rights of LUISS University in Rome, headed by Professor Sebastiano Maffettone.
3. These productions should draw their inspiration from topics of strong social significance and must contain a message that arouses interest in addressing the world’s human rights concerns: violence, including genocide and civil wars, as well as poverty, epidemics, environmental degradation, nuclear empowerment, terrorism of any kind, or other issues that plague international community.
4. There is a maximum length of 25 minutes for each submission. The works may be created by one or more author of any age or nationality.
5. Three copies of each work submitted must be supplied in DVD format. Deadline for entries is June 13, 2008. Please send all submissions to:

6. The winning films will be selected on June 30, 2008 by a jury of experts well-known in the entertainment and communications industries.
7. The jury will deliver their final evaluation at the end of the Social Cinema Forum – on Saturday July 19, 2008, at Ischia.
8. The selected films will be screened during the Closing Gala of the Ischia Global Film & Music Festival and later, as a sign of further appreciation for the artists’ efforts, at the festivals of Capri, Hollywood 2008 (27th /31st December 2008 ) and Los Angeles, Italia 2009 (15th- 21st February 2009).
