Tahiti
A young artist, sails to Tahiti, in the 1880s, accompanied by his wife, where he struggles to capture the fauna, and the people, in his life, on canvas. The results are more unusual, than he previously expected. Trailer of the short film, coming soon.
A French artist, and his wife, sail to Tahiti, in the 1880s, to begin a new life. When they reach the island, he struggles with his artistic ability, to capture the feel, of the island, and its people, calling them, "The Rhododendron People".
These images are from a lost film I made many years ago, which was a work of imagination, inspired by Tahiti, but made in Australia.This film, entitled "The Rhododendron People" was originally shot on colour 16mm format, and screened at The St Kilda Film Festival. In the film, an artist 'attempts to capture Tahiti' on canvas. In his paintings, he blends nature, with the people, in his world, calling them "The Rhodode

Due to political major changes following new government elections in Papeete, the Tahiti capital, the Tahiti Film Festival has been postponed. Online submission have been extended to adapt to this new schedule.
