Arizona Underground Film Festival is Arizona’s only premier underground cult
film festival! Being a non-profit film festival, we make it our sole mission to
showcase the work of filmmakers with defiantly independent visions. We are on a
quest to represent every genre of independent film from across the world
celebrating the artist, and their work. Now in our third year we are taking
Arizona by storm with screenings in both Tucson and Phoenix during the week of
Sept 18th to 25th. This 8 day festival will cover categories from Narrative,
Horror, Documentaries, Experimental, Animation, and we are proud to be the only
festival to offer an Exploitation category. Join us in the underground!

We pass by them everyday on the subway. Sometimes we drop a dollar. Sometimes we stop and listen. But who are these anonymous musicians that play their hearts out day in and day out for little recognition? BUSKING THE SYSTEM is a documentary that explores the world of subway musicians living and performing in New York City.
For in-depth perspective, BUSKING THE SYSTEM focuses in on the very different lives of several subway musicians in New York City. BTS follows three fresh faced musicians from Kansas City, MO, Seattle, WA and Cleveland, OH on their journey to see if they can make it in the New York subway and launch their career – will they discover success or be obscured in failure? Another musician already in New York is seen actually making a name for him self as a subway performer. There is also the familiar darker story of a man who plays strictly as a means for survival. From inspiring idealism to heartbreaking reality, BUSKING THE SYSTEM finally puts a spotlight on the musicians that make up the sounds of the underground.

The SCFF will showcase and celebrate the best Connecticut
independent films and films from around the world, that express
originality and the unique view for which independent films are famous
for. This is an exciting event that will bring thousands of people into
the Manchester and greater Hartford area.
The
Festival is open to all students and independent film makers worldwide.
Think of it as an escape to the quaintest New England town highlighting
the Autumn beauty with indie movies, shorts, documentaries, parties and
panel discussions throughout the 4 day weekend! We are also offering a
special category for Connecticut residents.
Short films. Animated, documentary and narrative. Student and non-student films (i.e. those older than students wether professional or amateur)
Libertas Film Festival opened its doors in 2005. The Festival takes place in Dubrovnik, the famous Croatian city on the Adriatic coast, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. For this year's, sixth, edition we are planning 7 different program sections which include:
- competitive feature and short feature program (applications open until April 1st)
- non competitive documentary section dedicated to different cuisines from all around the world, 'Film & Food'
- Focus on Japanese cinema trough works of Takeshi Kitano
- section dedicated to horrors and thrillers, Midnight Madness
- special children's section that will consist of 20 Croatian short animated films and 28 polish animated films, organized in collaboration with Croatian Film Clubs' Association and AleKino! Children's Film Festival from Poland
In 2010 Libertas will organize two workshops as well. An animation workshop in collaboration with Croatian Film Clubs' Association meant for Dubrovnik's high-school film club and a Mediterranean Cross Cultural Workshop in collaboration with an Italian film school and production company NEST. The workshop will gather 4 groups of 3 young professionals - a director, producer and cinematographer. These groups will have to make a short 3 to 5 minute film on a set topic - SEAMAN, chosen because the motive of a seaman is in common with all Mediterranean countries. The participants of the workshop will have to ‘start' the film in their homeland and ‘finish' the journey in Dubrovnik. Applications for the Mediterranean Cross Cultural Workshop open until March 25th!

'Whiskey Business' is a feature length documentary about a new UK, Birmingham based band called 1EYE. 1EYE have already supported UB40, Beverley Knight, Toots and the Maytals and Musical Youth. Creating a buzz within industry circles, 1EYE recently released their debut single 'Worries & Trouble' featuring Apache Indian. 1EYE have blended a multitude of flavours creating a barrel of an album also entitled 'Whiskey Business', which is a distinctive mix of reggae, Latin, and soul. The album is lyrically entertaining making quirky references to life in Birmingham and beyond. Whiskey Business was mostly filmed at a run-down Georgian pub called 'The Church Inn' in Birmingham. Half of 1EYE were living there at the time. The band organised two gigs at the pub’s dilapidated function room in order to polish the material before it was recorded. At the same time the band were building a studio in the old coal cellar in preparation for the recording of Whiskey Business. Alek (lead singer) makes a last minute decision and decides to fly out to Cannes to meet Danny (bass player) who is working with another band on a short stay. The two of them work around Danny’s gigs to network and promote 1EYE. Their time in Cannes gives an interesting twist to the story offering even more comical scenes set in a refreshing new location. Alek and Danny are faced with bad news upon their return. 1EYE are presented with a strict deadline. They not only have to finish building the studio, but also have to record the album and break the studio down all within a space of three weeks as the pub is now being sold by the owner! Emotions run high. The story gains pace as 1EYE set about achieving this near impossible goal. 1EYE manage to finish the album and embarks upon the daunting task of organising and promoting their first album showcase at a 2000 capacity nightclub called ‘Oceana’ in Birmingham. This concludes the documentary Whiskey Business. The film offers an interesting insight into what it’s like to truly ‘do it yourself’ from an unknown artist’s perspective. It is full of music, comedy, emotion and deadlines. Whiskey Business is a must for anyone who’s keen to immerse themselves in the gritty reality of what it’s like for a UK band trying to launch themselves into the public eye on limited resources. Radio stations that have played ‘Worries & Trouble’ include; BBC 1Xtra, Solar FM, Asian Network and Sting FM. 1EYE’s single has also been play listed by ZonaReGGae radio, Portugal and WCBN, Michigan USA. 1EYE’s 'Dopamine' remix has also been played frequently by Roger Sanchez.

This event takes place once a year. Anyone with an internet connection can plug into a festival stream from any location, at any given time and start watching contemporary art and films.

Both professional and Student filmmakers are encouraged to submit their work to compete for a variety of prizes and awards. We welcome films of all genres and styles that tell strong and original stories. We also accept feature-length and short film scripts for our FilmShift Screenplay Competition.
Twenty percent of our gross ticket sales will be donated evenly to 2 local non-profit groups: Christopher's Haven (a juvenile cancer support foundation,) and MetroWest Family Theater (a community theater group.)
