 <description>&lt;p&gt;The submission deadline for Taiwan International Children&#039;s TV and Film Festival 2008 is Oct. 31st, 2007. The competition awarding cash prizes (USD 24,000 in total) for Best Dramatic Feature, Best Animation, Best Documentary, Best TV Program and Special Jury Award. Taiwan Award is created to encourage the endeavor of the local filmmakers &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;About TICTFF&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Taiwan International Children&#039;s TV &amp;amp; Film Festival (TICTFF) is a bi-annual film festival founded by PTS (Public Television Service Foundation) since 2004. It is one of the first competitive TV and film festivals in Asia fully dedicated for children. This 5-day festival features various “Screening Sessions” for all types of children programming, “Kids as Directors” workshops, “Playground”, “Theme Countries” and “International Competition”. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The organizer, PTS also extended the physical film festival into large virtual educational outreach program. More than 100,000 exercise books were distributed to elementary school networks. The teachers and young students could engage in learning activities by watching programs aired on the PTS. In all, TICTFF 2006 had the largest scope of screenings and influence in all film festivals in Taiwan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Heading into the 3rd edition, TICTFF will be held on April 4 – 8 in 2008. Again it would like to promote quality children programming worldwide and let the young participants play and learn. The main theme will be “Magic Changes”. One of the festival’s most important activity is ” Kids as Directors”. The pre-festival workshop will assist children from ten local elementary schools to produce their respective short programs. The completed works will also be screened during the festival. One of them will receive the Children’s Jury Award.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2006 TICTFF &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The second TICTFF was held on January 13-17, 2006. In over 250 entries worldwide to compete for the awards, 30 outstanding films or TV programs had been short listed and screening. And during the 5-day event, it attracted over 30,000 participants and screened 120 films from 37 countries. Besides, following the main festival in Taipei, a total of 680 island-wide screenings in 43 separate venues were held. More than 500 staffs were mobilized for this road-show event, attracting a total audience of 50,000. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;PTS, the leading Public Television Service in Taiwan, was found on July 1st, 1998, being operated as an independent public organization which aims to provide value added quality programming services covering in a wide range of categories to represent the diversity and originality of Taiwan, especially to devote ample coverage to Taiwan’s long-overlooked and disenfranchised Indigenous people and Minorities.&lt;/p&gt;
