The 4 Screens European Festival's mission is to single out European films depicting or inspired by real life, be they conceived for movie theaters, TV, the Web or mobile phones.

Audiovisual production throughout Europe has changed a lot since the arrival of digital technology and Web 2.0. Closely monitoring digital advances as they pertain to fact-based audiovisual material, the festival seeks out and awards new productions, and encourages debate and reflection on the role of New Media through conferences and workshops held under the auspices of its University of Images.

For its 2009 edition, the festival is putting even greater emphasis on sharing what we've learned so far. We hope to appeal in particular to "digital natives"— the generation that has grown up with the Web. Our objective is to sensitize today's young people to depictions of current events, from the moment images are created to their dissemination.
