Detroit Docs's blog


Now in its’ sixth year, Detroit Docs has proven to be an important cultural event in SE Michigan for both filmmakers and festival attendees. The festival seeks to showcase the best of the contemporary documentary form, from the traditionally styled documentary film, to the documentary film that pushes the boundaries of form and content. Look for the next Detroit Docs coming up in November of 2009.

Detroit Shorts 2009 Film Festival

Detroit Shorts is a three-day community event, celebrating the finest examples of the cinematic short form by featuring films from around the globe with running times 10 minutes and under. The festival is open to the widest range of subject matter, genre, and technique.

This festival is presented by the Detroit Film Center, a non-profit media arts center in SE Michigan, providing education and resources to the local filmmaking community. The Detroit Film Center also presents the Detroit Docs international Film Festival, taking place this year in November 2009.
